First time stopping here. The staff were extremely helpful, and friendly. They have a huge variety of items here. I assumed by "shoe hospital" it was a store that fixes only shoes but boy was i wrong. They do a million different types of things here and sell a variety of items from shoes, to socks, to I even saw some shirts.

Awesome service and huge selection. Only place in town I've had luck finding the darn tough socks I was looking for. Brought in a pair of boots to get repaired, very friendly and willing to get me exactly what I needed. New lace loops, wear material on the toe, new sole, and widening the boot. The service is hands down the best in town. Highly recommend going to Gartner over any other place.

Got a great pear of shoes for a really good price. I'm 36 years old and I have never found a size 15 wide in a store. They had not just one but many (especially for me) to choose from. I went to the mall and the was only on regular 15. And I would of loved to buy that one even but the wrong size is the wrong size. If you want something that fits right (especially for the big guys) this is definitely a good place to come unless you want to waste your time & money somewhere else.

I brought in a vest I had already embroidered for work and one of the snaps broke instantly. With the tags still on I headed to Gartner's and hoped they could fix it. As I waited I could hear one of the gentlemen helping another customer and you could tell he was passionate about what he does and truly wants to help their customers. Much to my surprise, they able to fix my vest and he didn't even charge me. Fabulous customer service, and very kind. I will definitely be going back.

I'm proud Bismarck has a store like Capital Shoe! It's been around for over 100 years, great store, great service. We have brought just about everything here to be fixed: wallets, coats, shoes, purses, and every time I pick up the item it's in better condition than the day I bought it. They use real leather straps for toggle coats, better quality zippers, great soles for shoes. Always cheaper and done better and faster than sending it in anywhere. Thanks Capital Shoe!

I had one of my fire department leather boots that had about 2 inches of stitches come out during my training. They slid me into accommodate my needs.
I was standing in a foot of water for a few hours they offered different products to ensure longer life of the boots.
